The club exists to help MG enthusiasts get more fun from driving their MG’s – but you don’t have to own one to join. If you are thinking of buying an MG we can provide advice, and perhaps find a knowledgeable member to inspect a car and help you make a decision. Our cars (and expertise) run from pre-war to modern saloons.
North London MG club are part of the Botany Bay ‘family’. As a result, we are one of the few (maybe only) MG clubs in England to be able to meet every week. Our club night is held every Monday evening from 8.00 p.m., where we meet in the clubhouse to gather around the bar or sit outside during the summer to have a drink and talk about cars (and other things). The club has a wide range of beers including well kept real ales, soft drinks and coffee. There is also a terrace area; equipped with patio heaters should the evening get chilly. Members of the MG club are also affiliate members of the Cricket Club and can use the facilities at any time.
On a Monday in the clubhouse we have occasional formal meetings to discuss and plan activities and events such as film nights, race nights and a conker competition (if we can find any). During the summer we hold a BBQ and participate in cricket club events in the grounds. The cricket club holds regular entertainment activities including a very popular fireworks night, quiz nights and music nights.
We attend various classic car shows during the year, and organize drives to places of interest and country pubs. We normally have a club holiday each year - in recent years we've been to the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and Dorset.
We also have two what’s app groups which are used to ask advice on MG matters and to organise informal activities among members.
